How Virtual Worlds Will Transform the Way We Do Business

WHO:

Enterprising Georgia is a joint venture of The MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta and the Georgia Research Alliance. Enterprising Georgia provides a series of broadcast events that explore business and technology challenges in areas of pressing importance worldwide, with emphasis on Georgia’s role in meeting these challenges.

 

WHAT:

This program will focus on the practical business applications of virtual worlds today as well as future implications for business, how some companies are currently utilizing the technology for training and collaboration, opportunities for savvy entrepreneurs, and the impact virtual worlds will have on corporate IT.

This live broadcast will be aired from Atlanta to viewing sites worldwide. Attendance is open to all, and attendees will be part of the studio audience.

WHY:

The event will feature a stellar panel of speakers who are pioneers in virtual technology, including:

Deborah Dunagan, a Global and Business Innovation Executive for IBM. Dunagan specializes in creating and implementing business transformations designed to enable organizations and industries to operate successfully in the emerging and changing marketplace of the 21st century.

Juan Pablo Gnecco, founder and chief executive officer of Studiocom. Gnecco specializes in Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs), virtual worlds, online loyalty programs, kiosks and mobile technology, online media strategies, video-to-web integration, animation and original character development.

Christopher W. Klaus, founder and chief executive officer of Kaneva, a rapidly growing virtual entertainment world and founder of Internet Security Systems Inc. (ISS), a company sold to IBM in 2006.

Benn Konsynski, Professor of Information Systems & Operations Management at Goizueta Business School at Emory University, following six years on the faculty at Harvard Business School, where he taught in the MBA program and several executive programs.

Mike Vizard, Editorial Director and Senior Vice President of Ziff Davis. Vizard sets the strategic editorial direction for the Enterprise Group at Ziff Davis, which includes eWEEK, Baseline, CIO Insight, The Channel Insider, Publish and Microsoft Watch.
