New Law Gives Program Graduates Substantial Auto Insurance Discount
AAA Auto Club South announces an online driver’s education program offered for Georgia drivers this summer that could significantly reduce their automobile insurance rates. Those who successfully complete the online program and meet a few age and driving record requirements will be eligible for a 10% automobile insurance premium discount, regardless of their insurance carrier.
During a summer when the price of gasoline and related automotive expenses are going through the roof…this program could give thousands of families some financial relief. The savings for young families may be particularly significant, as collision premiums can run into thousands of dollars per year. The web-based program takes most drivers roughly six hours to complete, at a cost of $39.95 ($29.95 for AAA members). The program will be available online beginning Monday, August 11.
“In partnership with the American Safety Council, AAA will be offering affordable, accessible and easy to comprehend driver safety education online. This course should help first time driver’s obtain their license, as well as improve the safety and driving performance of experienced drivers. We are also very proud to be the first in Georgia to make this offering available via the internet,” said Kevin Bakewell, Senior Vice President, AAA Auto Club South.
The insurance premium discount savings of just one driver completing this program should more than cover the cost of the online training. The discount and premium reduction will remain in force for three years, absent any moving citation or traffic offenses by that driver. AAA Auto Club South, in addition to being a premier source of travel planning, roadside assistance and public safety education also offers automobile insurance.
“We hope to raise the awareness of this program with insurance agents across Georgia, as a value added service to their clients. This discount will be available from all carriers, and not just AAA. Better educated drivers make for safer highways for all of us, ultimately saving and lowering insurance premiums for everyone,” said Bakewell.
