Local non-profit and artists such as Nick Longo and Geoff Achison have teamed to teach young vocalists the skills needed to perform like polished entertainers. Free tickets for members of mass communications companies available, but must be reserved by Jan. 31.
This Saturday, February 2nd, the Rialto Center for the Arts explodes with extraordinary musical talent from our town. It is Rising Talents of ATLanta’s (RTA) inaugural production of “Singularity” - a musical revue of popular music genres with strong audience appeal. RTA is a 501 c(3) non-profit organization created to offer education and scholarship opportunities to the region’s best high school vocalists while teaching them entertainment skills seen only in accomplished performers. Our program has been developed in collaboration with dedicated and established musicians and entertainers in our region. Singularity takes place for one night only at 7:00 PM. Complete information regarding RTA’s mission and program, as well as Singularity information, can be found at www.risingtalentsofatlanta.org.
Music Expo
Prior to the show, between the hours of 3PM and 7PM, RTA is presenting a Music Expo featuring colleges, private schools, companies and other organizations and individuals that offer education programs, products and services of interest to people exploring career opportunities in the music and entertainment industries. As part of the Expo, Bruce Burch, Director of UGA’s Music Business Program within the Terry School of Business, will conduct a seminar from 5 to 6 PM at the Rialto. Bruce’s topic will be today’s employment opportunities in the music business. The seminar is free and open to the public.
Good Will Ambassadors
RTA President and Singularity Producer Roger Sheffield, notes that the cast would love to take Singularity on the road around Atlanta after the show. “We seek performance opportunities for segments of the show at festivals, charitable fundraisers, governmental and corporate functions and other public events. It’s a way to do good within the community while further honing the skills of our talented performers” says Sheffield.
