DeKalb County To Host Hollywood Movie Premiere

LITHONIADeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones will host a reception and movie screening for Tyler Perry’s “Meet the Browns” on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at AMC Stonecrest 16 located at 8060 Mall Parkway.  The reception will start promptly at 6:30 p.m., and the “Meet the Browns” movie premiere will begin at 7:30 p.m.

 

Opening in theaters nationwide on Friday, March 21, 2008, the film will feature nearly 20 DeKalb County police officers. “We are excited that Tyler Perry Studios chose DeKalb County to shoot parts of ‘Meet the Browns’,” said CEO Vernon Jones. “Through our Hollywood in DeKalb initiative, DeKalb County has been able to attract a number of Hollywood producers and feature films. This not only provides jobs for our citizens but it also adds to the economic viability of our community.”
