Finders Keepers Consignments is hosting a mid-season bag sale to benefit the Metro Transitional Women’s Prison Ministry at Finders Keepers at their Fashion store in Avondale. Each customer will receive a large bag in which they are encouraged to stuff with great Finders Keepers summer merchandise from the Fashion and Boutique shops. Customers will pay $10 per bag or just $5 plus a necessary item per bag. All items received will go to the Prison Ministry for distribution. Funds collected at the bag sale will help pay for inmate birthday parties hosted by the Metro Transitional Women’s Prison Ministry. The bag sale will be held on Friday, July 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 12 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
“I have the heart to help these women, but everything I do comes out of pocket and it is the support from generous organizations such as Finders Keepers that allows me to continue to support others,” said Eula Clay, organizer of the parties. “I am very appreciative of the support given to me by the staff and customers of Finders Keepers.”
Clay has been putting together birthday parties for the Metro Transitional Women’s Prison Ministry for over 20 years. She provides everything needed for the party and also puts together presents for the birthday honorees and prepares extra bags to hand out to women at the ministry. Bags include everyday items that women need including deodorant, shampoo, conditioner and much more.
“We are very excited to host this bag sale to benefit the Metro Transitional Women’s Prison Ministry and help Eula Clay,” said Bonnie Kallenberg, Owner of Finders Keepers Consignment Shops. “Everyone needs a little support every now and then, and I am happy that we are able to support this amazing ministry that works to give women a second chance.”
The Metro Transitional Women’s Prison Ministry is a halfway house for women who have just been released from a state prison. Every woman has to find a job and meet certain standards to receive support from the Ministry. Eula Clay’s ministry helps provide the necessities to these women, who may or may not have outside support from family members.
