WHO:
Ted Turner, environmentalist, philanthropist, entrepreneur and restaurateur, will kick off a nine-city tour on March 31 in Atlanta with two local events that will feature a dialogue about the hospitality industry’s role in sustainability and environmental stewardship.
WHAT:
‘The Green Restaurant Revolution’
Hosted by the Georgia Restaurant Association and the new Green Foodservice Alliance, “The Green Restaurant Revolution” is a private breakfast featuring a conversation with Turner, restaurateur George McKerrow Jr., and more than 150 Atlanta-area restaurant owners and operators to discuss ways the restaurant industry can come together to improve eco-friendly business practices. Proceeds from this program will create a new student scholarship at Georgia State University’s Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality. The scholarship is being created by the Georgia Restaurant Association.

‘Growing Green Leaders’
Turner and McKerrow also will meet with students at Georgia State University’s Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality to talk about the positive force the hospitality industry can have in protecting the planet and how students can do their part to become “green leaders.”
