Rose Marie Parks Arvay

Rose Marie Parks Arvay, 89, wife of the late Joseph M. Arvay and a resident of Exmore, Virginia, died at Cumming Nursing Center in Cumming, Ga., on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006.

A native of Tangier, Virginia, Mrs. Arvay was the daughter of the late John Ross Parks and Lottie Crockett Parks. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

Funeral services are being held at the Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore, Virginia, Sunday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Muender and Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating. Interment will be in the Belle Haven Cemetery, Belle Haven. Family joined friends at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore, Saturday evening, Jan. 21, from 7 to 8:30.

Mrs. Arvay is survived by six children, Pauline Osterberg of Greenville, Tenn., James Lee Lawson of Chesterfield, Va., Butch Harold Lawson of Atlanta, Ga., Theresa Alvaraz of Rehobeth, Del., Jay Parks of San Francisco, Calif., and Michael Arvay of Everette, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
