DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones, the Board of Commissioners and the Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the grand opening of the Browns Mill Aquatic Center. The 34,776 sq ft. aquatics center consists of several water features including: the Tot Pool, Lazy River and Leisure Pool.

The grand opening was spearheaded by Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones, DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, and the Parks and Recreation Department.

The facility - known as Browns Mill Aquatics Center - is located at 4929 Browns Mill Rd., Lithonia, GA 30038 .  Admission was free for all from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 150 people to enter the Aquatics Center received a numbered rubber duck to enter in the Lazy River Duck Race. The winner received a family pass for the aquatics center for the remainder of this season.
