DECATUR – DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management experienced a power outage at the Scott Candler Water Treatment Plant at approximately 6 a.m., causing residents in Northern and Central DeKalb County to experience water loss.

County officials immediately began working with Georgia Power to address these concerns and were able to restore power and bring up water pressure in the system by 9 a.m.

All water should be fully restored by noon, however, residents are still being asked to conserve water. Note: Residents might experience slight water discoloration due to restoration of the system.
