DECATUR – The DeKalb Parks and Recreation Department and former WNBA players Yerushia Brown and Tracy Henderson-Edwards were joined by NBA Washington Wizard’s superstar Jarvis Hayes to kick off Summer Hoops Fest with more than 200 kids in DeKalb County.
The Summer Hoops Fest promotes the development of early health-conscious habits. Each clinic focuses on intervention and prevention of obesity and sedentary lifestyles.

Summer Hoops Fest activities will also address sports education, nutrition, fitness, sportsmanship and self-discipline, emotional resilience, character and leadership development, decision-making, shared team-building, self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and good citizenship.
